OPPONENTS SHUTOUT BOXERS
The Pacific women's soccer team was shutout in both games over the past two games. On Wednesday, the Boxers traveled to George Fox to take on the Bruins. The Bruins handed the Boxers a 4-0 shutout. On Sunday, the Boxers played at home against the Lewis & Clark Pioneers. The Boxers could not find the back of the net for the third game in a row as the Pioneers shutout the Boxers 1-0. The Boxers (5-6-3, 3-6-1 NWC) are currently sixth in the Northwest Conference behind Pacific Lutheran with only six games left. This weekend the Boxers travel to eastern Washington to take on Whitworth and Whitman. Whitworth is tied for first with Linfield, while Whitman is in eighth place.
BOXER BYTES
• Lyndsey Watanabe is helping the Boxers out on the field making appearances in 13 matches with eight starts.
• The Boxer offense has had trouble finding the back of the net over the last three matches, but over the course of the season five Boxers have scored two goals and three Boxers have scored one.
• Once again Brittany Hartmann ranks in the top-five in three different statistical categories inlcuding saves, saving percentage and goals against average.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
WHITWORTH
Whitworth is currently tied with Linfield for first place in the Northwest Conference with a record of 7-1-2, 7-5-2 overall. Jael Hagerott is in her second season as head coach of the Pirates. On Wednesday, Whitworth took on the Whitman Missionaries, ending in a 1-1 draw. On Saturday, the game against Puget Sound was postponed to a later date. On Sunday, the Pirates claimed a 1-0 victory over Pacific Lutheran. Freshman Tiara Pajimola is currently leading the Pirates with seven goals in 39 shots, 20 shots on goal. Freshman Andrea Stump has been a work horse between the pipes owning a 5-3-1 record with 64 saves. Stump has 10 goals against with a 0.97 goals against average.

WHITMAN
Whitman is currently in eighth place in the Northwest Conference with a 2-6-3 record, 3-9-3 overall. Heather Cato is in her 3rd season as head coach of the Missionaries. On Wednesday, the Missionaries recorded a draw with first place Whitworth. On Saturday, Whitman collected another draw against Pacific Lutheran ending 0-0. On Sunday, the Missionaries fell to a tough Puget Sound squad 3-0. Senior Jaclyn Rudd is leading the Missionaries with four goals scored. She also leads the team with 49 shots in 15 games. Junior Emily Davis has held down the net for the Missionaries this season, posting a 2-9-2 record with 52 saves.

PACIFIC NEWS & NOTES
MS. RELIABLE: Lyndsey Watanabe (Fr., Waipahu, Hawaii) has been a huge help for the Boxers over the course of the season. She has been a big presence in producing offensive opportunities and frustrating the opponents. Being only five-foot-zero in the height deparment, she continues to be a fierce competitor on the field, taking on taller girls and getting around them to help out the Boxers. Watanabe has started in eight matches for the Boxers and has made an appearance in 13 out of 14 matches. "Lyndsey Watanabe continues to be Ms. Reliable," said Associate Head Coach Dane Joseph. "We can virtually put her anywhere and guarantee a solid performance." Watanabe has shot five times with three shots on goal.
THE BOXER OFFENSE: Over the last few matches the Boxers have had a hard time finding the back of the net, but the Boxers continue to get good looks. Over the course of the season five players have scored two goals. Three Boxers have scored one goal totaling for 13 goals scored for the season. Dani McMurray (Fr., Gresham, Ore.), Kamryn Plechot (So., La Palma, Calif.), Kaitlyn Harper (Sr., Oregon City, Ore.), McKenna Davidson (Fr., Kailua, Hawaii), and Sarah Tuffey (Sr., Valencia, Calif.) have all scored two goals for the Boxers. Emily Tuffey (So., Valencia, Calif.), Kailee Green (So., Hillsboro, Ore.), and Chantal Gustine (Fr., Kalispell, Mont.). The Boxers have shot 144 times with 72 shots on goal.
HARTMANN RANKS AGAIN IN NWC: With only six games to go, Brittany Hartmann (Sr., Portland, Ore.) still ranks in the top-five of the Northwest Conference in three different statistical categories. Hartmann ranks third in saves (65), fifth in saving percentage (.802), and fifth in goals against average (1.28). Over the weekend, Hartmann collected five saves for the Boxers. Hartmann currently owns a 4-5-3 record tallying three out of the four Boxer shutouts. Last time Hartmann faced Whitman and Whitworth, she collected the shutout against Whitman, recording five saves. In the loss to Whitworth, Hartman collected seven saves.
PACIFIC PICKED FIFTH IN NWC POLL: Northwest Conference coaches have picked Pacific to place fifth according to the league's preseason poll released in August. The Boxers received 36 of a possible 80 points in the poll, beating out Whitman, Pacific Lutheran, George Fox and Lewis & Clark. Pacific finished fifth in the conference standings in 2011, after a fifth place selection in the preseason poll. Puget Sound was the favorite to win a eleventh straight conference title. The Loggers earned six first place votes and 66 points. Linfield (56 pts. ) came in second place in the poll, scoring three first place votes.
