Hamline scores three first half goals, then holds off Stout in second half

Hamline University scored three first half goals and held off a UW-Stout second half charge to defeat the Blue Devils, 3-1, Tuesday at Nelson Field.

The Pipers (11-3-1) scored in the 17th minutes on a goal by Eden Behrens, then added a goal by Aileen Scheibner in the 21st minutes. Hamline received an own goal in the 33rd minute to close out their scoring. The win gave the Pipers their 11th win, the most in school history.

Stout (5-8-2) put a marker on the board early in the second half when Jenna Kizlik (Fr, Hammond) scored unassisted in the 5th minutes. Stout outshot the Pipers in the second half, 6-3, but got very few shots on frame.

Stout goalkeeper Robbie Shelby (So, La Crosse) had two saves, while the Pipers Molly Jacobs had three in picking up the win. The Blue Devils outshot the Pipers for the game, 11-9, Hamline put five shots on net to Stout's four.

Stout returns to conerence action Saturday, Oct. 20 when they host UW-Platteville at 2 p.m.
