BOXERS END WEEKEND WITH VICTORY
The Pacific women's soccer team ended the weekend with victory. On Sunday, the Boxers took control late in the match to claim a 1-0 victory over Whitman. On Saturday, the Boxers held Whitworth 0-0 heading into overtime. The Pirates claimed a 1-0 victory in the first overtime period. The Boxers only have four matches left in Northwest Conference play. The Boxers will play their last matches at home this weekend against Pacific Lutheran and Linfield. Pacific Lutheran is fifth in the Northwest Conference and Linfield is tied for first with Whitworth. The Boxers currently sit in sixth place with a 4-7-1 record, 6-7-3 overall.
BOXER BYTES
• McKenna Davidson scored the game-winning goal on Sunday to claim a 1-0 victory over Whitman. The goal marks her third on the season and her second game-winner.
• Brittany Hartmann collected her fourth shutout on the season. Hartmann also ranks in the top-five in the Northwest Conference in three different statistical categories.
• The Boxers collected their fifth shutout of the season on Sunday in 1-0 victory over Whitman.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
PACIFIC LUTHERAN
Pacific Lutheran is currently fifth in the Northwest Conference with a 2-3-7 record, 4-3-7 overall. Seth Spidahl is in his first season as head coach of the Lutes. Over the weekend, the Lutes recorded a loss and a draw. On Saturday, the Lutes fell 1-0 to Lindfield. On Sunday, the Lutes held out a 0-0 draw with Lewis & Clark. On Sept. 16, the last time Pacific and Pacific Lutheran met, the Lutes went into double overtime to end in a 1-1 draw against Pacific. Freshman Lauren Larson is leading the Lutes with seven goals. Freshman Marisa Gonzalez currently owns a 4-2-6 record with 76 saves. Gonzalez also owns six shutouts.

LINFIELD
Linfield is currently tied for first in the Northwest Conference with Whitworth. Linfield holds a 9-1-2 NWC record, 13-1-2 overall. Dominic Doty is in his fourth season as head coach of the Wildcats. Over the weekend, Linfield collected two victories. On Saturday, the Wildcats recorded a 1-0 shutout against Pacific Lutheran. On Sunday, the Wildcats claimed a 2-1 victory over Puget Sound. The last time Linfield and Pacific met, the Wildcats shutout the Boxers 2-0 on Sept. 15. Junior Emily Fellows is leading the Wildcats with 14 goals and 112 shots. Sophomore Taylor Collinsworth owns a 13-1-2 record with six shutouts. Collinsworth has collected 30 saves and has only allowed seven goals.

GAME-WINNING DAVIDSON: McKenna Davidson (Fr., Kailua, Hawaii) scored the game-winning goal in Sunday's match against Whitman. In the 81st minute, the ball was shot off Whitman goalkeeper Emily Davis and put into the feet of Davidson, who fired to the back of the net to help the Boxers claim a 1-0 victory. The goal marks Davidson's third on the season, her second game-winner. Davidson's first game-winner came on Oct. 6 against Willamette. Caitlin Castillo (Fr., Eugene, Ore.) crossed to Davidson in the last few minutes in the first overtime period. Davidson fired to the back of the net from the five-yard box to claim a 2-1 victory over the Bearcats. Davidson has seen action in 13 matches this season, leading the Boxers with three goals.
HARTMANN COLLECTS SHUTOUT: On Sunday, Brittany Hartmann (Sr., Portland, Ore.) collected her fourth shutout of the season. Hartmann collected two saves in 1-0 victory over Whitman. Hartmann's last shutout was against Whitman on Sept. 22 when she recorded five saves. Hartmann's first shutout of the season was on Sept. 8 as the Boxers held Northwest Christian to a 0-0 draw. Hartmann ranks in the top-five of three different statistical categories in the Northwest Conference. She ranks second in saves (74), fourth in saving percentage (.813) and fifth in goal against average (1.16). Hartmann has started 12 matches this season and has seen action in 14.
ADD ANOTHER SHUTOUT: The Boxers earned another shutout over the weekend, marking it the fifth shutout on the season. The Boxers scored late in the second half to claim a 1-0 victory over the Whitman Missionaries. The Boxers last shutout was on Sept. 22 against Whitman. The Boxers claimed a 1-0 victory over the Missionaries. The Boxers first shutout came on Sept. 2 as the Boxers shutout Whittier 2-0. Kayla Davidson (Jr., Kailua, Hawaii) collected the victory between the pipes, tallying seven saves. Davidson and Hartmann combine for the Boxers five shutouts. The Boxers shutout Northwest Christian on Sept. 8 and Oregon Tech on Sept. 9.
PACIFIC PICKED FIFTH IN NWC POLL: Northwest Conference coaches have picked Pacific to place fifth according to the league's preseason poll released in August. The Boxers received 36 of a possible 80 points in the poll, beating out Whitman, Pacific Lutheran, George Fox and Lewis & Clark. Pacific finished fifth in the conference standings in 2011, after a fifth place selection in the preseason poll. Puget Sound was the favorite to win a eleventh straight conference title. The Loggers earned six first place votes and 66 points. Linfield (56 pts. ) came in second place in the poll, scoring three first place votes.
