Lady Mavs Drop Regular Season Finale to Pitt-Bradford
BUFFALO, NY - The Medaille College women's soccer team closed the regular season this evening with a (1-0) loss at home to Pitt-Bradford. The loss slots them as the 5th seed in the AMCC Tournament.
Pitt-Bradford controlled play in the opening half, outshooting Medaille (8-4) over that span. They would finally cash in on one of their chances in the 24th minute when they beat Lady Mavs keeper, Denay O'Connor on a nicely placed shot. O'Connor finished the night with a pair of saves.
The Lady Mavs would have a good chance a few minutes later when Joey Ruderman played a beautiful ball off a corner kick to a streaking Candis Kapuscinski but she was unable to connect for the equalizer.
The Lady Mavs would outshoot the Panthers (4-3) in the second half but to no avail as they were unable to capitalize as Pitt-Bradford hung on for the victory. The loss is the third straight for Medaille and it drops them to (7-10-0) overall and they closeout AMCC play with a (5-4-0) mark.
They will head across town to take on 4th seeded D'Youville College on Saturday (10/27) in an AMCC Tournament First Round game. That game time is yet to be determined.
