FOREST GROVE – After recording her sixth victory between the pipes on Sunday afternoon, Brittany Hartmann (Sr., Portland, Ore.) earned Northwest Conference Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week for her performance in her final match in front of the home crowd at Lincoln Park Stadium.

Hartmann made the most of senior day, tallying seven saves to help the Boxers claim a 2-1 victory over first place Linfield. In the first half, Hartmann shutout the Wildcats with five saves and no goals allowed. Four of her five saves in the first half came off shots from Wildcat's all-time leading scorer Emily Fellows.

"Brittany set herself up for success in the off-season by committing to preparing herself for this fall," said Head Coach Morgan Crabtree. "As a result, she has had a stellar year in goal for us. This is a well deserved honor for Brittany."

Heading into the final weekend of Northwest Conference play, Hartmann owns a 6-6-3 record with 81 saves. She is currently ranked in three different statistical categories in the Northwest Conference. She ranks tied for second with her 81 saves, fourth in saving percentage (.818) and fifth in goals against average (1.15). Hartmann has started made an appearance in 15 matches and owns four of the Boxers six shutouts.

Hartmann was honored as the Northwest Conference Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Sept. 3-9. She collected the honor after a weekend of shutouts. Hartmann collected her first shutout on Sept. 7 in 0-0 draw against Northwest Christian and her second shutout came on Sept. 9 in 2-0 victory over Oregon Tech.

Kayla Davidson (Jr., Kailua, Hawaii) was also named the NWC Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Aug. 28-Sept. 2 after she collected her first shutout of the season in the net. It was just the third time in Davidson's career that she has played a full 90 minutes for the Boxers. Davidson collected her second shutout of the season, the Boxers sixth, on Saturday in 2-0 victory over Pacific Lutheran.

"Brittany and Kayla both showed fantastic leadership this weekend by making big saves and providing their team with the confidence to earn two great results," said Crabtree.

The Boxers (8-7-3, 6-7-1 NWC) are currently fifth in the NWC. The Boxers travel to Willamette on Saturday and Puget Sound on Sunday. Both of the matches begin at noon.
