GU senior goalkeeper Kara Gulvas (Crown Point, Ind.) played admirably in net as she made 15 saves on 31 shots (20 shots on goal). Freshmen forwards Jessica Nortey (Accra, Ghana) and Louisenie Philostin (Orlando, Fla.) were the primary offensive threats for the Bison as they each tallied a shot on goal in the contest. Gallaudet did not record a shot in the second half.
Lancaster Bible charges past Gallaudet, 5-0
LANCASTER, Pa. – The Gallaudet University women's soccer team could not overcome a three-goal first half by North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) foe Lancaster Bible College on the road Wednesday afternoon as they fell to the Chargers by a score of 5-0.
Lancaster Bible (11-3, 8-1 NEAC) lit up the Charger Field scoreboard early and often en route to a three-goal lead at halftime. Charger forward Evelyn Stauffer was responsible for two of the tallies, the first of which came on an unassisted goal as the sophomore dribbled through the defense and guided the ball into the back of the net. Her second tally came 10 minutes later, when she controlled a pass from senior forward Whitney Heise and buried it for a goal in the 21st minute. Heise added a score of her own in the 75th minute. Sophomore midfielder Monica Horning and freshman forward Bethany Stein also got on the board for Lancaster Bible for their 13th and 10th goals on the season, respectively.
