Wildcats overwhelm Bison with 4-0 shutout

MARCY, N.Y. – The Gallaudet University women's soccer team was shut out for only the second time this season as they lost 4-0 on the road Sunday against conference opponent SUNYIT. The host Wildcats scored three first half goals between the two North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) foes.

Gallaudet (1-9, 0-5 NEAC) had two shots on goal in the game and six shots total in the loss. Junior midfielder Monique Balcarcel (Lansing, Mich.) and senior midfielder Maggie Hoyt (Edgecomb, Maine) registered the two shots on goal for the buff and blue. Senior goalie Kara Gulvas (Crown Point, Ind.) made 16 saves in net for the Bison as she faced 20 shots on goal.

Dakota Hanley scored two first half goals and assisted on the final tally in the match in the 73rd minute to pace the Wildcats (5-6, 4-3 NEAC).

The Bison will try and end their losing streak on Wednesday, Oct. 3, when they travel to Wilson for a 4 p.m. conference game.
