Guilford Drops 5-0 Decision to Piedmont College
ROME, Ga. – Laura Goodwin scored twice and Shayna Rogers added a goal and an assist in Piedmont College's 5-0 soccer win over Guilford College Sunday on the final day of the Berry College Invitational.
The Lions (1-1) scored a pair of goals late in the second half to take a 2-0 halftime lead. Goodwin scored in the 41st minute off a Rogers assist to open the scoring. Rogers connected off the first of two Megan Heim assists three seconds before halftime, doubling Piedmont's lead.
Guilford senior Abby Gove made a career-high 11 saves in goal. Piedmont's Marjorie Hammond made one save for the shutout.
The Quakers (0-2) visit Methodist University Wednesday (9/4) at 4:00 p.m.
