STATEN ISLAND BLANKS NJCU IN CSI SOCCER CLASSIC FINAL

STATEN ISLAND, NY (NJCUGothicKnights.com) | The College of Staten Island scored three times in each half, putting 19 of its 25 shots on goal as the Dolphins blanked the New Jersey City University women's soccer team, 6-0, in the second round of the CSI Soccer Fall Classic on September 1 at the CSI Soccer Complex.
 
Both teams entered the game having won their tournament opener, making the second round game comparable to a championship game. CSI (25-4) outshot the Gothic Knights (1-1), 25-4.
 
In defeat, junior goalkeeper BRITTANY HOFFMAN (McMurray, PA/Peters Township) and sophomore transfer Cassie Lubonski (Edison, NJ/Edison) each played one half. Hoffman made seven saves against 12 shots while Lubonski stopped six shots, facing 13. CSI's Victoria Doneganmade two saves in the shutout.
