NJCU'S BRITTANY HOFFMAN IS NJAC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK FOR WEEK FOUR
PITMAN NJ (NJCUGothicKnights.com) | After stopping an incredible 21 shots to keep New Jersey City University alive in a New Jersey Athletic Conference game on September 21, NJCU junior goalkeeper Brittany Hoffman (McMurray, PA/Peters Township) was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the first time in her career on September 23.
Hoffman, a two-time All-NJAC selection in net and a 2013 First-Team Academic All-NJAC standout with a 3.83 grade point average, earned the honor for week four of the 2013 season after she reached double figures in saves for the 14th time in her career and accomplished the feat in the first half alone when she made 14 stops.
Many of her saves were of the highlight reel variety—and she broke up a number of other chances by William Paterson University with an aggressive effort in net, in a game in which the Pioneers outshot NJCU, 40-0. Her play in goal prevented the game from getting too far out of reach with WPU ultimately settling for a 3-0 win over the Gothic Knights.
