Stevenson Slips Past Dickinson 1-0 to Remain Unbeaten

More news about: Dickinson women's team

(Owings Mills, Md.) – The Dickinson women's soccer team surrendered a goal for the first time in three games, falling at unbeaten Stevenson, 1-0, on Wednesday night. The Mustangs improved to 3-0 in the young season while the Red Devils slipped to 2-1.

The game was well played throughout with both teams making strong attacking runs despite outstanding play on the defensive ends as well.

The Red Devils made a great defensive play with just over 15 minutes to play in the half, clearing a corner kick off the goal line.

Stevenson broke through with just over 28 minutes remaining, as Alexis Siejack slipped behind the defense and had a great look at the goal after receiving a nice pass from Meaghan Williams. That marked the first tally the Devils surrendered in its first three outings.

The Red Devils had some quality chances throughout the remainder of the game, but couldn't net the equalizer.

Sophomore Charlotte Armour (New Haven, Conn./Choate Rosemary Hall) made four saves in the nets for the Red Devils. Annie McCoach stopped a pair of shots on the night for Stevenson.

Stevenson held a slim, 10-7, advantage in shots and a 6-0 edge in corner kicks.

Dickinson returns home to face Eastern University on Saturday. Opening kick-off is scheduled for 3:30 pm.
