#3/8 MONTCLAIR STATE REMAINS PERFECT, DOWNS NJCU WOMEN, 4-0

MONTCLAIR, NJ (NJCUGothicKnights.com) | No. 3/8 ranked Montclair State University scored twice in a span of 21 seconds in the first 2:13 of the game and remained the only undefeated and untied women's soccer squad in Division with a 4-0 win over New Jersey City University on October 19 at the MSU Soccer Park.

Montclair improved to 15-0-0 and 7-0-0 in the NJAC. The Red Hawks are ranked No. 3 nationally by D3soccer.com and No. 8 by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) with a No. 2 NSCAA South Atlantic Region ranking to go along with it. NJCU fell to 1-9-1 (0-7-0).
 
MSU outshot NJCU, 30-1, putting 18 shots on goal, and had a 7-0 advantage on corner kicks. MSU was whistled for nine offsides.
 
Under heavy pressure, two-time All-New Jersey Athletic Conference junior goalkeeper Brittany Hoffman (McMurray, PA/Peters Township) kept the Gothic Knights in the contest, stopping 14 shots, including a half dozen highlight-reel caliber stops. She reached double figures in saves for the 19th time in her career and seventh consecutive game, while stopping 11 chances in the first half alone. NJCU leads the nation in saves per game behind Hoffman, who is currently No. 4 individually in Division III in the category.
