More news about: Hamilton women's team

The Hamilton College women's soccer team gave up a late goal, falling at No. 22 Williams (10-2-2, 7-2-1 NESCAC) Tuesday in the regular-season finale for both teams. The Continentals can secure a spot in the NESCAC playoffs with a Wesleyan win or tie against Connecticut College and a tie between Bates and Colby (both games will be played Wednesday).

Six saves by Liza Gergenti '14 helped keep Hamilton – who was outshot 18-7 – in a scoreless tie until the 76th minute. Audrey Thomas '17 took a pass from Katie Wardlaw '17 and fired a point-blank shot past Gergenti for the game's only goal.

Hannah Van Wetter '15 made five saves in goal for Williams, who clinched the second seed in the conference tournament with the victory. She stopped a shot by Hamilton's Becca Rees '16 in the 60th minute, diving to her right to knock the ball out of bounds.

The Continentals closed out the regular season allowing three goals in their final six games without allowing any of their opponents to score more than one goal.
