Four Women's Soccer Petrels Earn All-SAA Honorable Mention
Four members of the Oglethorpe women's soccer team earned All-SAA Honorable Mention Tuesday, as voted by the league's coaches. Senior midfielder Lexie Craig and forward Clara St. Urbain, sophomore defender Hannah Kuhn, and freshman forward Beatrice Menjor all earned the accolade.
Craig, a native of Alpharetta, Ga., garners her second consecutive All-SAA Honorable Mention. She served as an important piece in the Oglethorpe central midfield, helping in both defense and in the attack. She recorded a goal on the season, and earned a spot on the SAA All-Tournament Team.
St. Urbain, a native of Marietta, Ga., earns her third career all-conference designation. She was a member of the 2012 All-SAA Second Team and was named 2010 SCAC Newcomer of the Year. She also earned a spot on the 2010 All-SCAC Third Team. For the season, she recorded five goals and two assists. She took All-SAA Honorable Mention as a forward despite being forced to play the latter part of the season as a center back due to team injury issues.
Kuhn, a native of Elizabethtown, Ky., receives her second consecutive All-SAA Honorable Mention. She proved to be an integral part of the Stormy Petrel defense over the last two years as a fullback. She also recorded an assist on one of her frequent forays into the attack.
Menjor, a native of Tallahassee, Fla., takes her first ever All-SAA honors. She was an attacking force over the course of the season, finishing tied for fifth in the league with nine goals on the campaign. In addition, she bagged four game-winning goals on the year, placing her in a fourth-place tie in that category. She was named SAA Offensive Player of the Week Sept. 30.
