David Sheridan Named New Soccer Coach at Notre Dame (Md.)

Baltimore, Md.  --  Notre Dame of Maryland University has named David Sheridan to be their new Head Soccer Coach.  

Sheridan comes to Notre Dame after serving the past two seasons as the assistant women's coach at Manchester University in Manchester, Indiana.  At Manchester, he was responsible for recruiting, fundraising, strength and conditioning, and academic monitoring.  Working with the goalkeepers, his work helped the team break the school record for shutouts while multiple players earned First Team All-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference and Second Team All-HCAC honors.  During his tenure with the Spartans, Sheridan played a large role in bringing in 18 new players to the program.  

Prior to working at Manchester, Sheridan served as an assistant at American University in Washington, D.C with the women's team.  Working with the goalkeepers, his keepers garnered multiple Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week awards and set a school record for shut outs in a season. 

He began his coaching career at Washington and Lee High School in Virginia as a Girls Varsity Assistant Coach.  The team reached district finals each season Sheridan was involved with the program, posting a 37-14-1 record.  Six of his players went on to play Division I soccer while numerous players earned All-District and All-Region team recognition.    

During his playing days, Sheridan was a team captain of the Mount Ida College team that played in the NJCAA National Championship Tournament and was ranked as high as #2 in National Rankings, where he graduated Magna cum Laude with a B.S. in Graphic Design.  In 2014, he graduated from Concordia University - Irvine with a Masters in Coaching and Athletic Administration.
