Sexton hired as Northland Head Women's Soccer Coach

ASHLAND, Wis. - Northland College dierctor of athletics Kim Falkenhagen announced the hiring of Justin Sexton as the new head women's soccer coach.

Sexton is a Northland College alumn after graduating in 2001 with a degree in Computer Information Systems with a Business emphasis.  After his graduation, Sexton remained at Northland where he was an assistant coach for the men's and women's soccer team for four years. 

He then moved to Alabama where became the director of coaching for the Hoover Soccer Club, headquartered in Hoover, Ala.  He also was the head coach of  the ODP club program in Birmingham, Ala. for seven years.

He was most recently the assistant director of the Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) and an assistant general manager/coach for Alabama FC.  Sexton also coached two teams as part of the ECNL along with recruiting players to represent five Birmingham United Soccer Association (BUSA) Elite Club National League soccer teams.  As the assistant general manager for Alabama FC, Sexton assisted in the creation of the women's Premiere Soccer League team in 2013 along with recruiting players from across the NCAA and the NAIA.

Falkenhagen commented, "Justin brings many experiences to the Women's soccer program—not only as a coach, but as a former player and a member of the community.  He is driven and a determined coach who will be very successful in taking the team from where they left off in the conference to bigger and better successes.  I really look forward to having Justin in our department as well as back at Northland College and in the Ashland community."
