Wicky Green tabbed Medgar Evers Women's Soccer Head Coach
BROOKLYN, NY - The Medgar Evers College athletics department announced on Monday, August 17th, 2015, the hiring of Wicky Green as the Women's Soccer Head Coach. Green arrives at Medgar Evers College with a plethora of coaching experience most recently at the Chesire Soccer Club.
"I am extremely thankful & excited for the opportunity to coach at Medgar Evers College," said Green. "I would like to thank the athletic department for giving me this opportunity and I look forward to putting in the hard-work necessary to make the Medgar Evers College Women's Soccer a contender within the conference and nationally."
At Chesire, Green assisted in teaching fundamental techniques as well as advanced skills within the game of soccer.
Prior to Chesire, Wicky served as the Head Coach of the JV-Freshman and Assistant Coach of the Varsity soccer team at Guilford High School in Rockford, IL. During his tenure at Guilford, Green prepared strategies, tactics and technical training sessions for practice and games. Additionally, amongst his other responsibilities Mr. Green monitored the academic progress for each student-athlete part of the Rockford soccer program.
Before coaching at Guilford, Mr. Green served as both the Assistant Coach of the Women's Soccer program and the Interim Head Coach of the Men's Soccer program at Rockford College in Rockford, IL. During his tenure at Rockford College, Green proved to be a tremendous recruiter which helped build the Rockford College program.
A resident of Orange, NJ, Green currently holds his NSCAA National Soccer Coaching Diploma as well as his United States Soccer Federation Class D license.
