DeBoom goal lifts Tommies in 2 OT
All-America forward Mallory DeBoom scored 90 seconds into the second overtime to lift visiting St. Thomas to a 1-0, two-overtime victory at UW-River Falls in Friday afternoon's non-conference contest.
The Tommies (2-0-1) outshot the Falcons 8-4 in shots on goal and 25-5 in all shots, and had an 8-2 edge in corner kicks.
Brielle Bierman and Liz Luotto assisted on the game's only goal. Freshman Katie Lynn of San Diego was in goal for the victory in her collegiate debut and made four saves.
It was the 18th career goal but first of the young season for DeBoom. It was also her 11th game-winning goal.
The Toms return home Sunday to South Field to face St. Scholastica (1 p.m.)
