Women's Soccer Dominates, Only Manages Draw
The Illinois Tech women's soccer team failed to make the best of their opportunities, and managed a draw, versus Benedictine. The Tech women moved to 5-2-2 (2-1-2 NAcC), while Benedictine has their record shift to 3-5-2 (2-1-1 NACC).
The lady Scarlet Hawks played an even first half versus Benedictine, and the teams were fairly even on shots. Tech held a slight advantage, outshooting their opponents 7-4, but they failed to capitalize and were left goalless. The shooting boots remained missing throughout the second half, where Tech dominated on offense. They outshot Benedictine 15-4 in the second half, but couldn't slot one past Cassidy Henson (Benedictine). Henson had an outstanding match, and saved 9 shots throughout the match.
The two overtime periods were less exciting than the second half, and only three shots were attempted throughout them.
Emily Dashiell led the way for Tech, and was getting into great positions on offense. She led both teams in shots attempted (8), and shots on goal (3).
Up next, the Scarlet Hawks will travel to Rockford on 10/9/2019.
