Women's Soccer drops season opener
Farmingdale, NY - The Rivier College Women's Soccer team dropped their season opener today, 2-0, on the road at Farmingdale State.
Farmingdale State broke the scoreless tie 15 minutes into the game when FSC junior forward Theresa Martorano (Commack, NY) edged one pass sophomore goalkeeper Christine Surber (Langdon, NH). Martorano would extend the lead to 2-0 when she netted another one from 20 yards out in the 49th minute.
Surber stopped 13 shots in the loss for the Raiders.
Rivier, now 0-1, will travel up to New London, NH where they will face Colby-Sawyer College on Saturday. Game time is set for 2:30pm.
