More than two weeks removed from the beginning of league action, the HCAC's best non-conference records belong to the Mount St. Joseph men and women.
Men
Mount St. Joseph take a 4-0-0 record and back-to-back shutouts into a difficult stretch this week against traditional powers Wittenberg and Wabash out of the North Coast Athletic Conference. Sophomore forward Austin Webb has propelled preseason men’s favorite Rose-Hulman to a 4-1-0 record, scoring four goals to lead the Fightin’ Engineers. Transylvania is off to a slow start at 1-1-3, but the Pioneers went 4-4-0 in non-conference action a year ago before fighting Rose-Hulman for conference supremacy every step of the way
Player of the Week: F - Austin Webb (So.) - Rose-Hulman
Women
The Mount St. Joseph Lions, like their men's team, have run off four successive wins as well as two shutouts to start the year. HCAC favorite Hanover hasn’t disappointed to date and look to be the toast of the league after knocking off NCAC foe Kenyon in overtime in early September and posting five goals against then-No. 13-ranked Aurora over the weekend.
